140 floor parts

Post by 8269 »

I'm not sure of the proper name. But, I need the parts to extend the floor around the rudder pedals. Both pilot and co pilot sides. If anyone has these for sale or knows where I can source them please let me know. Thanks

Did you find the floor parts? If not, check the " 1946 140 Part Out" of Steve AH #8424 above and click on one of the Ebay links that he listed regarding seat parts. It will take you to the guys Ebay store where he has the floor parts, both sides for $99 plus nominal shipping. FWIW

David, I plan on driving to the convention, it is about a 4 hour drive for me. I am restoring a ‘47 140 and plan on fabricating the two “floor boards” you are looking for. If you want, I will make two sets and bring one with me to the convention for you. They are very light and simple to fabricate. I will my old set for patterns. I will trade them for advice and pictures!

Thanks Steve for the offer! I was able to locate a set but I will keep you in mind if I end up needing them if the ones I am getting turn out to not be so good. I am unlikely to make the convention this year due to a new job but I am always happy to share whatever advice I can although I tend to be more on the asking side than the giving compared to a lot of the seasoned veterans on here.

Thanks again!

Steve, turns out the set I got ahold of are going to need modifications to fit. Do you have a pattern you were going to use? I wouldn't mind taking a look at it if possible and might be interested in taking you up on your offer to fabricate a set depending on how workable the set I have is.

Thanks again!

David, I have the old ones out on my work bench and it will be very easy to make a new set using the old ones as a pattern. I haven’t measures the thickness of the aluminum but I suspect it is .020”. I have .016 and .025 so I will make them out of the .025. My phone is (520) 237 3373. Give me a call, we can exchange e-mail address and I can send you a picture or two.
