Looking for a 120 or 140 and some rambling
Hi everyone...I'm looking for a nice 120 or 140 hopefully west of the Rockies but will consider midwest planes too. I prefer a ragwing with a C85 stroker, C90 or 0200. C85 is OK if the plane is really nice and I just can't say no . I watch all the normal for sale websites. If you are thinking about selling please let me know as I would like to give your plane a good home.
PS: I've been wanting to buy a 120/140 for several years. But I'm in a catch 22. The hangar wait lists around here are 2+years long. Last time my name came up I hadn't secured a plane to buy and the airport wouldn't let me rent the hangar without a plane in my name. Plus about that same time my wife decided to go back to school for a career change which I needed to fund before I could be serious about plane ownership. So I'm left with trying to synchronize my name coming up on the waitlist with a plane purchase. Reason being, I refuse to tie down outside for an extended period of time in this rainy climate I live in. So I'm now number 6 on the waitlist and my wife is a few months away from being done with school. I figure I have anywhere from 6 weeks to about a year before my name comes to the top of the waitlist so I need to find a plane in the near future.

Pics of "Minty". Prebuy in September and if all goes well hopefully be in my neck of the woods in October sometime. C85 that was overhauled in 2018 with millenium cylinders, lightweight starter, alternator, 150 exhaust. 120hrs since OH. Interior is Airtex and very clean. 2500 airframe hrs. Original metal wheelpants. My mechanic friend said he would like to buy her if I didn't He couldn't find any corrosion. We looked at the gearboxes and they looked good but will dive deeper during the prebuy. Not exactly sure what year. One airframe log says 46. But the serial number indicates it's a 47'. Is the serial number the thing to go by? Serial # 12035. The VOR antenna actually works with that radio...thought that was kind of neat! Not that VOR is hugely important today, but I like the fact that the antenna is not just adding weight and good looks The dock is for a Garmin Aera 660.
