Engine Swap Question

Post by simonlowther »

Is a change from a C-85 to C-90 just a straight change, or is there more to it?

It's pretty straight forward. The exact requirements are spelled out in Note 5 of aircraft specification A-768. You'll likely need to repitch your prop, unless you currently have a cruise prop.

If the C-90 is a -14 or -16 the same mount will work. If it’s a C-90-14 you will need a different mount.

Randy, check your response - C-90-14 will or won't require different mount? There's always one smart XXX in the crowd! :D

I think that's a typo and he meant "-12 or -16."
