Reset Tach hours at overhaul

Post by 6597 »

Is resetting the tach hours something instrument shops do normally at engine overhaul? Yes I know I can just keep corrected hours but I'd like to see the 'zero' when I get my engine buttoned up here in a few weeks.

Just so you understand, you still need to record total time since new as only the engine manufacturer can zero time the engine.

An instrument shop that repairs tach should be able to reset it. It's just an old, mechanical speedometer/odometer under the covers.
