Looking for Ferry Pilot - ID to WA

Post by rominoff »

Hi, I bought a '47 140 in SE Idaho and am looking for a ferry pilot to bring it back to Seattle. Was about to take it to Ron's Avionics shop in Twin Falls, ID this weekend for a Transponder, ADS-B, AV-30, and new comm installation, but it picked up some hangar rash in Blackfoot, ID and now they need to replace the R/H Aileron. It's fresh out of Annual and it will be a few weeks before the aileron is replaced, then a trip to Twin Falls for a couple of weeks for upgrades when the next slot opens up. It's a very basic 140 (see pics), hoping to line up a pilot that can ferry it, or fly with me to Seattle for hire -CFI would be preferred, otherwise, a current 120/140 pilot with plenty of logged time.

Nice looking airplane. Congratulations! I can't help with the Ferry pilot gig.................but do look over your replacement / repair of aileron. Sometimes the aileron attach points get bent. (it's the trailing end of a rib)

It's very tight where the rib slides down inside the aileron, you don't want interference of any kind. Have your shop check. Too many times the shop concentrates on the flight control and not the pivot point/ attach bracket.

Here's a panel with most of the mods you referred to installed (COM, TXP, and AV-30).

Hello,

My '47 140 finally made it to Ron's Avionics in Twin Falls, ID today for a new GTR-225, Stratus ESGi, AV-30-C, and a 406 ELT. Looking to hire a ferry pilot to bring it up to the northwest (S43), any takers? Estimated time in the shop is 2 weeks.

Thanks in advance,

Bradley
