We are thinking a DER might have to come into play on this. There are some rag wing 170’s that have them installed and one of the owners said he will dig up his paperwork. It’s a start. The IA is consulting with his FAA rep to see what the best approach for making one legal. In the mean time was looking at some 180/185’s and the variance of doublers on the windshield mounting. Usually it’s a large area washer, aluminum plate of .125 or a flanged box of thick 2024-T3.
