Door latches, any good source?
The cam in the door latch is broken at the pivot point. It seems that good used latches are hard to find and I really dont need to replace the whole thing. Before I go through the process of making my own, is there a good source for the latch part of the door mechanism?

Re: Door latches, any good source?
Have you tried the salvage yards.........it may be your best option. However if you look in the parts book and post the exact p/n you need I can scour the FBO parts site and see if anyone has something.
A couple of the larger parts distribution companies, "Preferred" in Ohio and "Airframe components by Williams" in Kendallville Ohio seem to have a remarkable assortment of used Cessna parts. They buy up old dealerships, FBO's parts lots and attend about every GA Aviation auction that comes up.

So I took your advice and found the part code in the parts catalog and I was not ready for what I found.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/194498886317
https://www.univair.com/cessna/parts/04 ... oor-catch/
I cannot believe that this part is $400 NOS or $785 New each!
I think that Ill be coming up with my own.

Hmmmm, "pocket change?"
Now that I know what you're looking for, if you have a little time (early next week), let me see if I can't scrounge up a better option(price) for you. Chances are someone has one of these on the shelf somewhere.........they'd love to get rid of.

Re: Door latches, any good source?
Prob of no use, but there are some for sale on Ebay with different part # (Bird Dog?)...and, I'm told that they won't work. And, since I don't have'em handy to compare/measure, I'm assuming that's true. $30 bucks no doubt too good to be...still, they appear very similar (below). Could they be "adjusted" to fit? Again, IDK. (Ebay # 263638578846).

Re: Door latches, any good source?
FWIW If it were me and after checking Preferred ( good folks that I have used) and still price not in budget, I would order the Ebay and use cam from other door as template and visit a local machine shop for possible "adjustment", if one couldn't make ones own adjustment. 2c
