Changing Rubber Engine Mount Cushions

I need to change the rubber engine mount cushions, any tips? Raise the tail? Sequence? Thanks.

I have an O200 installed. I took the weight off with an engine hoist. I then replaced the rubber cushions one at at a time. C85 should be a little easier.

Raise the tail.
Use an engine hoist to relieve the pressure.

Thanks. How high would you raise the tail. Five gallon bucket high?

leveling the engine fore and aft makes it easier, think along the lines of when you weigh the plane, tail higher than a 5 gallon bucket, I think somewhere closer to 4+ feet.

It makes it easier, but it is not really critical. As close to level as practical. (Level is the splice plate that runs down the side of the fuselage behind the door posts.)

Hi,

I'm wanting to change my bushings as well. I'm not sure where exactly to hoist the engine from. The only thing I've found is lift from "lifting eyes" on backbone of engine - I don't think I have that installed or lift from the crankshaft with prop removed (ref. OH manual). C-85-12F.
