Yes the legs were heated rebent, quenched and magnifluxed? For cracks. Was provided a 337 and yellow tag as well as the results of the magniflux or was it dye penitrant. Would have to check the paperwork. I do not recall them being reshotpeened but I’m not certain without my records on hand.
I installed VG’s when I restored the plane and even with 8.50x6 tires I could not full stall land without the tail hitting WAY before the mains. Now it stalls in a perfect 3 point attitude. That being said I would not even entertain the thought of having tires that big if we did not use the plane on beaches or gravel bars that are fairly flat. In my nearly 1000hrs in a 140 it will do quite a bit, but it isn’t no cub (Duh!). The tires are worth the money for the extra margin of safety and wear and tear on my 70+ year old toy.

Don't know if you still need paperwork for a 8.50 field approval, but I was just successful with the process for AERO classic 8.50-6 for my 140...

There were several signed 337 for the Desser 8.50x6 installed on C-140 or 120's on the old form. Hopefully they can be found and reposted.

Re: 8.50 tire install 337
Came home from a business trip to a pleasant surprise. 2 approved 337s. 1 for solid Grove axles and one for 8.50x6 tundra tires. I will post as soon as I get them scanned to PDF. I know what I'm doing next weekend

How can I upload the PDFs to the forum? If someone will let me know I have them scanned and ready. Thanks

How much air pressure are y’all keeping in your 8.50 tires?
