Landing gear spring paint color

Post by tomreneau »

I have a polished 1949 and the gear springs could use a fresh coat of pain. The color on there now looks a little flat for a polished airplane. Any suggestions as to what a good color would be if this is not the factory color?

Maybe waxing would help.

Gull Gray is the correct color for the gear. From your photograph the color looks correct.

Gull grey is it. There’s also a write up on full grey on the 170 forum. https://forum.cessna170.org/forums/view ... 24&t=10803
