Wanted C90-12 / Propeller
I'm looking to replace a C85-12F in my Cessna 140 that I purchase a couple of years ago. I'm trying to get if flying again but found a lot of rust on the cylinder walls, guess that's to be expected after sitting around for 15 years. If anyone can help me out or point me in a direction that would be great.
Thank you
Carl Benda

I do have a C90-12 that I will sell. Zero time since overhaul a number of years ago. Just haven't found a plane to put it on yet. Feel free to send me a message if you are interested. Bill

When you send a message, it remains in your "Outbox" until someone reads it. If it appears in your "Sent" messages it has been looked at at least once.beaverbill wrote: ↑Fri Sep 09, 2022 6:49 pmDid you receive the private message I sent you? I can't tell from the mailbox.

Re: Wanted C90-12 / Propeller
Bill,
Sorry for not getting back to you on the engine, I go distracted with life and haven’t been on the site much. I did spend some time on the 140 yesterday and I did find a C-90-12F. I would have saved some money had I seen your post first. Anyway now I am in need of a rudder, the skin is bent both sides and the bell crank is looking pretty rough and the NAV light riv nuts are both gone. So if anyone has a good one they are willing to sell i’m interested
Thanks

Carl,
There is a chance that our Chapter has a rudder. I will check this weekend on that.

Re: Wanted C90-12 / Propeller
I just finished the restoration of a C-140 that had been over on its back and of course needed a rudder. I found they are as scarce as hens teeth! I had the old crumpled up rudder so salvaged the tail light fittings and the bottom rib with the control arms. Bought a new spar, two side skins, and the top cap and had a “new” rudder with about 4 hours work. I bought the parts from Univair. I have several pictures if you want to see the procedure.

The skins and horn are available from Univair like Steve mentioned.
It is not hard. I replaced them on mine when I restored the airplane.
I did make a custom bucking bar for the rivets in the Spar.
The rivets on the trailing edge can all be done with a squeezer.

I checked today and sorry but no rudder. We do have a set of elevators though.
