Has anyone attempted to install the Uavionix magnetometer in the 140 yet?

No, but have a G5 with GMU11 magnetometer in a 120. Magnetic survey indicated under hat shelf was fine and have had no issues over three years. Just can’t have anything ferrous or magnetic on hat shelf. Had to make standoffs to allow it to be mounted right side up.

@edidin, how did you do the magnetic survey? What kind of instrument is needed for that? I have some pretty nasty magnetic interference in the cockpit, I’d love to find a way to pin it down.

Gauss meter of some kind - I will get more details from the avionics shop later today.

Shielded power can help reduce RF.

The avionics guy used a gauss meter to survey the aircraft. So presumably any good shop could do the same.
