Maule Tailwheel Springs
Looking for a replacement spring kit for our maule tailwheel. I’m finding P/N 05-2737 / U/3239A-103 on aircraft spruce which appears correct visually but it indicates it’s for the Scott 3200 tailwheel.

Is this what you were thinking?
Part# 05-27337 MFR Model# U3239A-103 is more for the 3200 Scott.
Maule springs on the Scott arrangement is bad ju ju
Cannot comment on the Scott springs on a Maule set-up.

Re: Maule Tailwheel Springs
Thank you! I added a picture of our current setup with the broken chain as well, it looks like it is this based off of the photos. Definitely looks like the Scott setup on our Maule tailwheel.https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/ ... -27337.php

Re: Maule Tailwheel Springs
Nobody chiming in?
I know that there are 2 different coil springs for the Scott units, one is kind of fat and dumpy for the 3200 and the other is a little skinnier for the 2000.
I do not know which is correct for the Maule set up other than there is a 'Maule' compression spring. I do know that the 'Maule' springs are not correct for Scott units and can cause a bit of damage when they fully compress and cause stress to the rudder horns IIRC. Perhaps that is why your Maule TW uses the Scott springs. I honestly don't know what the legal/correct spring set-up is for the Maule tailwheel on our birds.
You could always measure your remaining spring width/length and we can compare it to our springs to get the right size
The chain is door sash chain from the hardware store, or you can buy fancy stuff from Spruce or Univair.
For the 3200 Scott pneumatic tires

Re: Maule Tailwheel Springs
In case this helps anyone in the future..
We ultimately purchased and installed this kit https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/ ... prings.php
Scott Type Tension Spring Connector Assembly P/N 2151
Seems to be a great fit for our Maule setup on our 120.
