Next steps will involve wiring, so I put the old seats back in to scoot around on without worry. Cut a piece of plywood and tied the old seaback hide to it, just to be able to sit and work.

Lorraine Morris at Taildraggers made a beautiful set of new seats, when we're ready to toss them in.

We rebuilt the entire tail wheel assy. New solid rubber wheel and cleaned and reassembled the Scott wheel. Then used the info from the member library to rebuild the leaf spring assy. Was missing parts and pieces when we disassembled, and all the rubber was totally gone. All new now and ready to roll!

Tail wheel. Cat dish keeps the plane from rolling around the shop. Cats donated it to the project, it was an extra one anyway.

Engine installation is imminent. Installed the 0-200 engine mount and ran the throttle, mixture, and carb heat cables to mock them up. Have all new rubber mounts and hardware, should get her hoisted up today. This will be a great turning point!

Finally the day came to install the motor! We blasted down to near Gainesville, Florida the week after Oshkosh to pick up the 0-200 that had been fully rebuilt with all the good stuff, off a project plane that was not going to be completed. Included the proper mount, prop, cables, and all the hard to find little pieces. We were very fortunate to find this, and now it's presented here!

Simple to lift in place, easier than the racecars we've built.

Now to the WINGS! For a whole year we've been wondering what was under the old covering after 40 + years of storage in the barn in Sparta. With the help of Barney Dykstra, Production Manager at WACO aircraft in Battle Creek Michigan, we're in the process of removing the old covering for repacement. So far, even though there were some birds nests in the openings, the metal looks great. We'll be removing all the covering soon. This work was planned for the wintertime.

Found a box of wires from the engine purchase! Sorted them out and began to wire from the voltage regulator, seemed like a good place to start.

Wings being further readied for recovering. Condition of ribs and spars look excellent. Some AD's will need to be incorporated.

Worked to remove the right wing tank yesterday. Tank appears to be in great shape, just needs a gasket at the gauge, and new fuel fitting and sampling valve.

Did a walk around Youtube video, excuse the first attempt at inserting this. Hope it works.
