Some VP (Visual Progress). Working with our local EAA Tech advisor, we're doing some further assy of the engine. Also received a pattern piece rear bulkhead, to measure and make parts for the tailpost AD. I love this club.

Your panel looks familiar.

I turned my control wheel in the up position. Much more comfortable for me and provides more leg room. Painted the inside of the panel surround white and then installed the original back lights. They work real good and look very cool.

Another item to consider at this point is the crankcase vent modification. This will help eliminate oil on the bottom of the aircraft and floor of your hanger.

Back to the wings, removal of the old covering. It's actually a darn shame to think that this old Ceconite never saw much flight time. The logbook shows that the wings were totally re-covered in 1967 and the last annual was then 1968, and then she was parked for 40+ years. But off it comes. Structure looks great, just some AD's to incorporate, rebuild the tanks, and we'll be ready to recover and go!

Bit of a cold snap up here in Michigan this past week. We saw -13F for a couple of days. Gets pretty tough to keep the shop warm at those outdoor temps, so we waited out the deep freeze.

Working to install a tail fin reinforcement piece per AD. Goes on the rearmost bulkhead. We fabricated a 2024T3 piece but the first attempt didn't catch the #6 rivets at the tail on the sides. We'll revise the piece a bit and try again.

Almost got it, sides need to be abit longer to catch the existing rivets. Should have it at the next attempt.

Finally some progress to report! It's been slow since the holidays and early 2014. We continued the engine assembly onto the mounts, and working on wiring. Hung the mufflers and torqued all the installation bolts etc. (Still bending up the rear fin reinforcement "cookie sheet" piece, it will be ready soon.)

Guages are due back from Rudy's this week, will be great to see them refurbished.

Otherwise,,, it's 6 degrees out up here in Michigan, which takes a certain amount of energy to withstand, on its own.

This weekend is the 24 hours of Daytona sports car race, so we have a get-together to watch the race and it's expanded to airplane friends as well!

The wings are awaiting parts and pieces, they haven't been forgotten!

Got to keep fighting the freeze and maintain momentum!

Looks like an O-200.

A&P IA. Holder of STC for O-200A's in 120, 140 & 140A's. Engine overhauls on C-85's ,C-85's with O-200 crankshaft, C-90's and O-200A's

It is! It's the one from the "O-200 rebuild", in this forum, Don Irving's original project, however he decided not to finish the plane it was going into. Your STC! A.

Gauges returned from refurbishment! Rudy's in Rudy Ark. did the work. Faces all re-screened, and paperwork to return to service. Still need an electric Turn coordinator, and VSI to fill in what I want for the panel. Need to do a small repair to the aluminum mount, just want to clean up the 7:00 Altimeter nob location a bit, it was carved out at some point in the history it appears, just needs a bit of cleanup.

Lots of electrical pieces on order this week, planning to move ahead soon on that.

Winter remains in full force this weekend, 4-7" coming today. Perfect to work on the 120, in the warm shop!

Working on the gauge panel, this is fun stuff, gives "Visual Progress". I still want to add a VSI, Turn Coordinator, and clock to round out the optional gauges for the 120.

Also have the light sockets in place now, only had one light in the center as I found it, for some reason.
