Well, the exhaust finally cracked. It's been welded over a few times and just keeps cracking in the same place. So I decided it was time to bite the bullet and get the cross-over system. I placed the order with Custom Aircraft today should hopefully be a week or so turn around time.
Whew! Seeing that "weld" job someone had done makes me a little sick. When you first mentioned to me that an IA said your exhaust shouldn't be welded, just replaced, I though that's a silly concept. Now I see his reasoning. Yikes!
Very nice! Looks (and, sounds) great. ...curious -- do they recommend any tail pipe bracing (You may have some in place, but I didn't see it)? Thanks for sharing this journey as well as the obvious quality work by Custom. Mac

Thanks! I'm very happy with it! Yest the tail pipes are braced with rubber straps to the firewall. See below (I've since trimmed the pilot side duct).
