I ended up making my own checklist. I find these cookie cutter ones are just too universal, you end up doing too many steps out of order or skipping them all together. I find especially with the 120/140, each one is so different it's hard to have a universal list.

Check lists are good...when I fly my son's C180 it really helps me feel confident that I haven't missed something. His plane has to many knobs, levers and switches, tho!
The one I have used with my Stinson, C150, C140, J-3 is much simpler. All I had at start up was the master switch, and only one radio, no transponder.
Before Take-off:
Can I Go Flying Today Peter Rabbit Sir
Controls, Instruments, Gas, Flaps, Trim, Power Run-up. Seat belts.
Before landing:
The good old GUMPS...except I didn't need all of it!
Gas, Under carriage, Mixture, Prop, Seat belts.
I like watching my son using the check list in his 180...gives me lots of confidence in his approach to flying.

In any airplane, from J3 to Citation, always do a "fuel and controls" review at hold short line. If engine(s) are getting fuel from tank(s) with gas, and controls are properly set (flaps, freedom of travel, trims) the airplane is likely to safely fly.
