I got a hold of Tye to get some. His are the right profile but its just straight stock. Any ideas of how to do the corners and have them effective and nice looking once done?

Here is a post from the old forum on the subject. If I find more, I'll post it here, too.

Just finished up the first door with the new adhesive.

Oh My Gawd!! The proper adhesive makes a WORLD of difference! I did the entire door seal in about 30 minutes.

I followed the written procedure again, and made sure to also let the adhesive flash off for several minutes until both surfaces (seal and door) were almost try, but still tacky. It takes a rather thin coat on the door to work best.

This time through, once that seal is stuck down to the door, it's DOWN! :!: A few passes with your fingers to squash it down well and your DONE! Clamp the corners with clothes pins and VOILA!

To review - the proper adhesive for the EDPM rubber this seal is made from is 3M #4799 from the industrial line, or 3M #8011 from the automotive line. They are the same adhesive. #4799 is available from McMaster-Carr, and the #8011 is available from Spruce.

Do NOT use the 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive available at auto parts stores (unless you find the #8011). It will not work properly. Your door seal will NOT adhere very well.

Thanks to Bill for making the seal available, and also for confirming the seal material.

I would suggest updating the written procedure on this site to include the glue part numbers from 3M and the sources.

Looking forward to getting the doors on the plane tomorrow and taking her up for the first flight since annual 3 weeks ago!
