WANTED - Axle shims
Looking for camber axle shims (not toe-in toe-out). Let me know what you have and what you want for them. Need them for ski adjustment. Thanks, John.

As far as I know, there's only one type of shim. They're tapered in both directions. By flipping them around and combining two together you can get a shim pack that changes toe without changing camber. (The 100 series service manual doesn't allow for that and camber is whatever you get. I can see why, since it's all over the map in real life as you raise and lower the tail and compress the gear.)

Grove makes separate shims for either axis. A Grove 6202-8 is a 2 degree shim that would work. My wheel axles have camber shims, I will have to look closer but I don't know if they are tapered for toe-in.
The TrickAir wheel skis need to be horizontal at flying weight. Toe-in is proper but the edge of the skis are too close to the ground in normal taxiing position.

I'm curious; when the weight is on the ski it doesn't sit flat on the ground? How far out is it?
You could try flipping the shims upside down, keeping the front edge in front. It might help (or it might make things worse.) It should have little, if any, effect on toe.

This is the only photo I have with me showing the ski mounting. The skis have their own axles mounted on the inside of the gear. I leave the wheel axles with shims for alignment but as you can see the skis are angled out on their longitudinal axis. This is where I need the camber shims.

So, separate shims on the inside of the gear leg? Doesn't the ski manufacturer have anything? Make, or buy from Grove, I guess.
