John and all -- here are some photos of my dipstick. One photo shows A3966 (or something like an A) stamped on the dipstick. I couldn't find anything stamped on the oil tank but there is a photo of the tank included.

UPDATE: Just heard from my mechanic here in Florida that he found the exact match (A3966) with Don George Aircraft in Orlando!

Perfect!
Numbers starting with "A" date back to the origin of the type in the 1940's. The number of the sump is stamped on the flange. You have to take the tank off to see it.
Interesting; A3966 isn't in the service bulletin...
Ah! it's superceded (twice). The current part is 649608-14. Fits a Rearwin with an A75-8...
