Grimes Landing Light D-3040-A for 1946 C140

Post by n140f »

Hello,
I have a 1946 C140 with a Grimes D-3040-A retractable landing light. We are looking for a shop to rebuild the motor and limit switch assembly. Does anyone know of a shop where we can send my unit?
Thank you,
Molly Flanagan Littlefield
Seattle, WA

Good choice. Expensive but good. I sent them a basket case landing light from a 1943 Stinson Reliant. They upgraded it to a sealed beam and did a tremendous job of cleaning up the rest of the light and motor.

If the price they quote is higher than you are willing to pay I have a bulb and retract mechanism had I just removed from my 140 and willing to sell.

I am installing the Landing light STC in the leading edge so no longer need it.

Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Hello Rick,

I was able to get my landing light fixed by AvLite in Paso Robles, CA. However I'd be interested in your light just to have a spare.

Sorry if this isn't a private message. I'm new to the site and not sure I selected the PM icon.

To all that were interested in the light.

It has been purchased so I no longer have it. Sorry.
