Re: 140A Door stop
Best I recall, the Sky Catch design fits and functions well for the 120-140 (vs. 140A) with the receiver on bottom of door and "catch" on the strut(?). It may be adaptable to the 140A, but would probably still require a serviceable catch at the wing attach(?). A great option if it works, in any event. Mac

Re: 140A Door stop
Looks like the "Sky Catch" must be what I have on my 140. Works well.

Yep those are the ones I have on my 140. My dad has them on his 150 as well. Work great and won't wear out in a few years....

Re: 140A Door stop
On a 140A you could probably mount it at the top of the door and have a tab on the wing like the 150's have.....2066 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 9:45 am Best I recall, the Sky Catch design fits and functions well for the 120-140 (vs. 140A) with the receiver on bottom of door and "catch" on the strut(?). Yep. Although I'm thinking that it's the tab on the wing that's broken on the OP's 140A and that's what costs so much...even the "serviceable used" are pricey. Re: 140A Door stop
Yes, thats the problem, the part on the wing is broken. I was leery about drilling those rivets out that hold it on as I was thinking that was the bottom of the fuel tank, like a wet wing would be, but the tanks are separate correct? Do the tanks sit on stringers of some sort? Meaning is there a gap between the bottom of the wing skin and the fuel tank?2066 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 18, 2020 11:10 amYep. I can't answer, 'though would "assume" so -- someone will come along who definitely knows...good to be cautious as drilling into the tank would ruin your whole day. I did have to drill in the top of my 140 wing (over tank) a while back to enable a pulled rivet where a fabric clip had let go & I was warned to limit the depth for drilling the hole. No doubt someone who's been into the "A" wing bottom will be along...shortly. It's a bummer that you're having to go through this. Mac

Re: 140A Door stop
Thanks Mac...yes, at least it is the pilots door so I can hold onto it and be careful opening, but I want to fix it.

Re: 140A Door stop
Any pilot who can handle a chopper can easily hang on to a flapping door! Seriously, there's gotta be a simple (...relatively) way to R & R as well as a reasonably priced replacement out there. There'll be more help here at some point, & we'll keep an eye out for the part. Mac
