Primer Packings

Post by 7313 »

Once again I am looking for a source: This time I need packings for the old style primers. See photos:

Markings are: "Imperial Mfg Small Fuel Pressure Brass Pump Primer. Hand Operated. Chicago USA"

Imagine that! Made in USA! LOL.

Any help appreciated.

Best I recall there've been no parts available for this one for a while. There is a video that Randy Phillips did a while back with his method of fabricating the leather replacements ( https://youtu.be/8Jy8rANHHXk ). It's a bit tedious and may be more fun than you can stand after all of the work already done on the restoration :) ...but, worth a look. Meanwhile, we'll keep an eye out for any NOS that may be hiding around these parts & will holler if found. Good luck, John! Mac

PS...Look (quickly :o ) at # 182719054693 on Ebay (...or search for "Imperial Leather") -- there are "leather cups" (NOS) for sale there & may or may not fit your model.

Mac,

Once again, thanks! I don't think I want to get into the leather business, but I am wondering if Randy could knock out a couple of those little beauties for me since he already has the jigs and the leather. Do you know how I would contact him?

I'll check...he's a friend of a friend back in GA who I haven't talked to in a while -- good excuse to call. Will advise if I find contact info.. Did you get a chance to look at those on Ebay? Mac
