Would someone please measure the dimensions your 1947-51 120/140/140A glove box door? I get to make one.
If you happen to have one laying around that you would sell, I would be interested in that too.
The old ADF that was in the glove box opening is in the discard pile. I bought a glove box, but the home made door is actually smaller than the box!
Also, would you measure the depth (length) of the glove box? I may just make a new box as well. Mine appears to be home made. It's out of square.
Thanks!

I'm away at work Steve, but if no one gets back to you in the next 10 days I will do it then.

Re: Glove Box Door
The dimensions are:
L = 12 1/2”
W = 6 1/4”
H = 4 7/8”
The box is all spot welded together and has a mounting flange of 1/2 X 1/2 inch angle spot welded on each side 1/2” back from the face.
I can send a picture but only by e mail, I don’t know how to send a picture on this forum.

Re: Glove Box Door
I think he is just looking for the dimensions of the door, not the actual box.

Re: Glove Box Door
Thanks, Steve, for the box dimensions. Now all I need is the door dimensions, and I'll have everything I need.
No need to send the photo. Thanks for the offer.
Take care.

The door dimensions are:
H = 5 1/2”
W = 6 3/4”
The knob is 1/2” below the top and is in the center, located in a 1/2” depression. The hinge system is rather complex and only a picture could describe it adequately.

Re: Glove Box Door
Thanks, Steve for the door info.
I've got the parts manual which shows the hinge in detail. I've seen a lot of parts for sale, but never a set of those hinges or the door they are attached to! I don't have the instrument cover panel assembly for either side, so I will be hinging the door from the bottom of the glove box with piano hinge. I had to do the same thing on my 1st C140. It actually works out pretty good, just not any where close to original!
I'm going to try to make a punch/die set out of hard wood to try to put the dimple in the door. I didn't think about the location of the dimple. You came thru in flying colors for me!
Thanks again.
P.S. I think we need to rename this association "Steve's Cessna 120-140 Association"...there are a lot of "Steve's" on here!
