11-hole instrument panel, 1946 140

Post by 8475 »

Hey folks, the rubber-mounted instrument panel (the amoeba-shaped panel in the middle) has 10 holes, with a large blank area in the dead center. I've seen pics of this same panel, but with an 11th hole in the middle, typically holding an artificial horizon. These 11-hole panels look like a factory part. Can anyone comment if this 11-hole panel was a factory option?

To the best of my knowledge, no. There was actually a panel light in the center.
