Thanks for the kind words Steve. We used to live in Broken Arrow and my wife's sister lived in Skiatook. Very familiar with that area! Airplanes are magic carpets indeed. No doubt we'd all agree! And, not only do they take us to neat places, but enable special friendships with some nifty plane people! (As an unrelated aside, my wife has a great friend who lives in Skiatook -- I'd never heard of it and, now, it emerges here as a very "well known" little city. Small world.)
...LED bulbs in the landing/taxi light, David? Did it have the D windows when you acquired? A great photo and a spectacular 120!!

No doubt we'd all agree! And, not only do they take us to neat places, but enable special friendships with some nifty plane people! (As an unrelated aside, my wife has a great friend who lives in Skiatook -- I'd never heard of it and, now, it emerges here as a very "well known" little city. Small world.)

Thanks Mac! I snapped that photo with my iPhone and it turned out better than I expected. I went LED for taxi and landing for a few reasons starting with being on a generator at the time, the extra safety factor (I base under a Class B) and the fact that I have an older 150 light assembly that is a PITA to change bulbs in. It did not have the D Windows when acquired but I knew it was a factory option and with the fantastic work of Ken & Lorraine Morris, I got D Windows, new headliner, baggage compartment, replaced window handle on pilot side and added to the co-pilot so the window could be opened and Hooker harnesses. I really do like the extra visibility and versatility for storage and access. The existing belts were not a safe installation. The work quality is exceptional as you would expect! Great & revealing pics -- thanks for posting, David! While I knew that you'd had the coveted "Morris interior upgrade", I didn't recall that you'd added the D-windows. What a contrast! And, wow, the "before" on the harness really shows an "interesting" installation -- glad you had that corrected with the well proven Jack Hooker design/set. Had an unfortunate impact occurred and IF they held, it seems obvious that there'd been a serious downward pull on the spine . Uniquely, and similarly, your 120 really fits well among these special "Calendar quality" aircraft. Thanks, again, for sharing!

Thanks Mac! I'm honored to be the caretaker of this plane. It had just under 1800 hours total time when I bought it and it has been pretty well loved. The D Window installation was interesting. Lorraine had the window frames and there are specific existing rivets you use to determine correct placement. We got the frames placed and outlined, holes were drilled along the path and I was handed the cutters to remove the large section and then Ken worked his magic to finish the edges. Holy tin snips, Batman!!! I'm almost sorry that I can't un-see that photo......tends to give one chills just viewing, so I can't imagine the drama in the midst of fabrication. Yep, there are a very few folks I'd want guiding and standing by (closely!!), and Ken & Lorraine would be prominent on that "list". A great and worthwhile mod, IMO. ...more great pics, David. Mac
