Alternator Coupling
During my annual, my IA rotated the cooling fins on the alternator and noted that there was some play. However when the prop is rotated the fins move immediately indicating no play in the alternator coupling. I replaced the bushing (PN 632050) around 100 hours ago. Any thoughts on this?

Re: Alternator Coupling
A decent amount of play in the alternator cooling fan appears to be the norm. I think mine has about 1/2 to 3/4" at the tip of the fan. Replacing the drive cushions reduced it somewhat.
Keep in mind, the generator/alternator drive is geared up about 1:2, so there will be about half as much play on the prop end, anyhow.
