Hi
I’m having a spare generator rebuilt by a classic car specialist. They are finishing up the job and have asked, which direction does the generator turn? When viewed from the front, that is to say viewing the drive assembly, is it clockwise or ACW?
Very many thanks
Andy

Clock-wise when viewed from the drive end.

Re: Generator rebuild
Very many thanks John.
Much appreciated.
So just to be absolutely certain, the generator rotates in the opposite direction to the prop?
Edited to add: I’ve just discovered Fig 10 in the overhaul manual, which I think may be helpful to me. Naturally it seems to be in complete agreement with you John.
Many thanks again.

Re: Generator rebuild
Yeah, it's driven off of the inside of the cam gear, so it turns the same direction as the cam, which is opposite the crank.per ardua ad astra wrote: ↑Fri Jan 14, 2022 9:29 amSo just to be absolutely certain, the generator rotates in the opposite direction to the prop?
