I am currently in the process of overhauling my engine and was wondering if anyone has used the new baffling kit from airforms Alaska or is their a better option for ordering new baffling.
Thanks,
Matthew

Re: C85-12 Baffling
I just installed their baffling kit. It was expensive but their service and later help was first rate. I elected to buy the powder coated kit. I will be happy to send a picture of the installed kit if you send me your e mail address.

Re: C85-12 Baffling
Steve, I would be very interested in seeing the photos of your new baffling. I ordered a set, but my engine is still out for overhaul, so we haven't had a chance to fit the engine, baffling, and cowling all together yet. I'm anxious to see if it all fits together nicely, or if it's going to be a pain in the neck.
One thing we have already encountered is that the Left Forward Baffle Assembly from Airforms does not match my 1946 baffling. The newer Airforms baffling has an air scoop and a smaller cutout for the "inlet" into the carb heat shroud on the straight exhaust. My mechanic has brought this to their attention, and we are discussing with them what to do next. Kudos to Airforms for taking the time to listen to our concerns. (We've had some rude encounters with other vendors in the past...I'm looking at you, Sensenich...)

Re: C85-12 Baffling
Chris, all I can say is that all the pieces fit the C-85 like a glove. I have not yet fit the cowl and I suspect I will have to trim some of the “flexible seal” whatever it is. I am in the process of covering my wings right now. I did not have ANY of the baffle pieces to compare with the new ones. I sent a series of five pictures to John Cooper to post on the forum. If they aren’t posted in the next few days I will send you the pictures. I live in rural SC and our internet provider is about the same as the old dial up. I can only send two pictures at a time and then only early in the morning!

Steve: I haven't received anything. I'll send you a private message with my email address in case something was lost in the translation. Also, it's possible the total size of the message and images exceeded someone's limit.
