I don’t know if I should call it a unicorn or historic, I just purchased the very last Cessna 120 produced, serial number 15075, build date April 18th 1949. It is in amazing great shape with 2728 TT and 1056 hours on a 0-200. It came with ALL log books and documentation since new. The AP who owned for the last 40 or so years specialized in 120/140s so every AD has been completed and perfectly document.
I am planning on doing a light restoration starting with a wing recover and polish.
I hope I don’t screw this up, I’m sure I will have lots of questions as I go along.

The brakes are fine, as long as you don't loose any of the clips that hold the disk in place! The clips, and also pucks (pads), are made of unobtanium... (You can make your own pucks...)

Don't know if it was an "upgrade" or something else, but I believe the cowl grills are off of a 140...

I intend to!
I don't plan any major modifications, possibly some avionics upgrades but no glass panel. I am struggling with what to do with vertical stabilizer, this is the only 120 ever with the word "last" added by the factory. I plan on a full polish which would remove the older paint.

This is beyond cool. I read with deep interest all of the Morris's restoration work on "UNO" the first 140A. They started with about the same airplane, but opted for a full restore. It appears you're going to go the "functional resto" route, ...........I fully agree with that decision. You have a historical object on your hands I'm happy to hear you're going to attempt for keeping it original.
Please post some interior shots, from several angles, I was just at the Sturgis convention and Eric has a late 1948 120 with a C-140 panel, but the earlier cast rudder peddles and "D" windows. Someone obviously gave his 120 the "140 upgrade". He was thinking that the later 120's came with left over 140 panels..........but I don't think so.
Your aircraft is exactly 2000 s/n's newer than mine. Mine was built in 3-19-1947,
