Have a 140A with top Cowl hinge 'ears' broken about mid point on each side - about 8 inches each.
I think there was information on the old forum about suggested replacement for these hinges.
Any experience or ideas?

The "piano" hinge is broken? We regularly just replace them with generic hinge material available from many aviation suppliers. In certain cases, I've spliced in sections rather than replace the whole hinge.
