Hello,
I was wanting to do a Grove solid axle upgrade soon. I called Grove to order a set of 5016 axles with 4 x 5/16 inch holes instead of the "standard" 2 x 5/16 and 2 x 3/8 inch holes. I was informed that they only make the standard configuration and no longer make axles with 4 x 5/16 holes or 4 x 1/4 holes. Any suggestions on how I can acquire solid aluminum axles or hollow steel axles? Is it feasible to drill out 2 of the holes to 3/8 to fit the standard configuration? Any ideas/suggestions?

Re: Grove Axles
I happen to have a pair of solid aluminum axels that I am helping a friend sell. These are part number: 0541124-1. They have the two bolt holes at 5/16, and two at 3/8 arrangement, and I think were originally for a C170. Will these work for your application?

Re: Grove Axles
Unfortunately no .
I am trying to find axles with all four bolt holes at 5/16. I am not sure if it is wise to get 2 of the 5/16 holes drilled to 3/8. I might have to though.
Thank you for posting though!

Check out Cessna SNL-60 dated 1-19-55. Install solid ski axels PN-0441140. Most likely available at a salvage yard.

Re: Grove Axles
After a few calls to Grove, they agreed to start selling the axles again through vendors such as Aircraft Spruce. If you give Spruce a call, they should be able to help.
Applicable part numbers are (these are all Grove type two axle patterns but the mounting holes are different):
