I have an oil leak in my O200A. I am seeing oil sag and drip from the studs that hold the intake spider in place and the same studs, seem to be loose when turning with a wrench. It also seemed to be turning the stud rather than the nut on the stud. I left for the holiday right after discovering this and won’t be back to the problem until Monday.
Are the holes in the case that these studs screw into blind holes, or do they lead to the open into the crankcase area where oil could be getting through?

Re: Spider Studs
Pretty sure there bottom out and do not go in to the oil cavity. If the case half lower bottom has a leak it will end up around the intake or spider . Just a thought.
