Hello all,
New owner of Cessna 120 N77248 sn11710. I purchased it in December 2021.
I was told I have to inspect the exhaust every 25 hours. I have the straight stacks. From my reading of AD 48-25-02, it only applies to "those aircraft equipped with exhaust muffler assemblies that are fabricated by welding exhaust stacks to muffler." Since I don't have mufflers, I believe the AD does not apply. Is this the generally recognized interpretation around the organization?

You are correct. It only applies to what are "affectionately" known as "pancake mufflers".
