I got the prototype of the steel link done. I machined it from a hunk of 2024 plate. Next up is the other half of the latch that is normally made from Aluminum. I will make it from a piece of C channel extrusion. Sorry its taking so long. Let me know what you think

Re: Window latches
Looks great so far. I'd like to sign up for one latch (PAX window).

Still working this will have something soon. This darn work thing keeps interfering with my progress

Re: Window latches
For what it's worth, here's a couple of photos of the latches on my C-140. The latches were on it when I bought the plane in 2002.

Re: Window latches
Just Curious...........
The window on the passenger side of my 120 is hinged but screwed shut. If I took the two securing screws out and left it unrestrained what would it do during flight? I've pondered this for awhile but never had the nerve to try it.
It's getting cooler now, so I won't think about it much until next summer. That said, it sure would be nice to have the extra circulation at times.
Sincerely,

Re: Window latches
I've heard that the window will rise and rest against the wing surface. Haven't tried it myself.
