This 2018 Cirrus SR20 G6 Is an Efficient, Easy-Flying ‘AircraftForSale’ Top Pick

Each day, the team at Aircraft For Sale picks an airplane that catches our attention because it is unique, represents a good deal, or has other interesting qualities. You can read Aircraft For Sale: Today’s Top Pick at FLYINGMag.com daily.

Today’s Top Pick is a 2018 Cirrus SR20 G6.

The general aviation market buzzed when Cirrus launched the SR20 in 1999. The sleek, attractive, composite airplane with aerodynamic fixed landing gear, sidestick controls, and—of all things—an airframe parachute was a departure from the types of aircraft pilots had grown accustomed to since the middle of the 20th century. It was the first truly new light aircraft design that many pilots had seen in decades.

Early adopters snapped up the new model, and these fast, efficient, and easily recognizable airplanes began turning up on airport ramps across the U.S. For many buyers, the SR20 delivered an ideal combination of performance, economy, and comfort.

Things changed two years later with the SR22’s arrival. The more powerful and highly equipped model piqued the interest of pilots looking for an aircraft at the upper end of the piston-engine performance charts. Soon the SR22 was outselling the SR20 by ever-larger margins. Increasingly, the SR20 seemed to be relegated to training fleets.

Over time, private pilots have come to appreciate the SR20’s attributes, which include the same technology as its higher-powered siblings, forgiving flight characteristics, and a somewhat more relaxed traveling experience when compared with the mighty SR22 and turbocharged SR22T. For many, the aircraft for sale today still occupies the sweet spot in terms of speed, pleasant handling, and economy.

This 2018 Cirrus has 1,850 hours on the airframe, Lycoming IO-390 engine, and Hartzell three-blade propeller. The aircraft is equipped with factory air conditioning and the CAPS airframe parachute.

The panel features the Garmin Perspective+ flight deck with dual WAAS GPS/nav/coms, synthetic vision, GFC 700 autopilot, electronic stability program, ADS-B In and Out, and Flight Stream connectivity.

Pilots who are interested in an aircraft with the versatility to perform well as a personal transport, time builder, or trainer should consider this 2018 Cirrus SR20 G6, which is available for $419,000 on AircraftForSale.
