Slick mags

Post by a64pilot »

I have Slicks, off right now for an alternator repair.
Anyway they are both Left mags, I assume that’s because they both have impulse couplings? Anyway when you pin them to set the mag timing to the engine, do you pin them both as Left mags? or do you pin the right one as a right mag?

The "Left" refers to the rotation, not the position. And yes, set them both up as "Left (hand)".

Thanks I figured that but wanted to be sure. I figured they both had to rotate the same direction due to the impulse coupling.

While there off you might do a little inspection just to take a gander inside and put a little green slick grease on the cam lobe, the new slick mags are now going for around $1200.00 :o
