Diamond Aircraft has named AirMax Patrol as the exclusive U.S. distributor for its DA62 MPP special mission aircraft. Based in Reno, Nevada, the new distributor will handle sales and mission integration for airborne law enforcement agencies, search and rescue operators and aerial survey customers. The company was founded in 2025 by John Nielsen, a retired California Highway Patrol officer and pilot, and Steve Nielsen, who has experience in municipal financing.
“My brother and I are both passionate about communities made better and safer through smart investments in technology,” John Nielsen said. “When done well, locally deployed, airborne technologies serve that goal with a multiplying force. That’s why we started AirMax Patrol, and that’s why we are partnering with Diamond.”
According to Diamond, AirMax’s work with the DA62 MPP will include mission requirements assessment, procurement documentation, pilot and tactical flight officer training, operational consulting and sensor integration. The company will also assist public-sector customers with financing and grant-related options.
