Epic Flight Academy Adds Test Prep for A&P Certification

It takes a lot of hands-on learning and academics to earn an airframe and powerplant certificate, and now Epic Flight Academy is helping applicants make the grade with the launch of a two-week test prep course for FAA Part 147 A&P certification.

According to EPA officials, the courses are offered at both the New Smyrna Beach Municipal Airport (KEVB) campus in Florida and the Erlanger, Kentucky, campus at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (KCVG).

Epic Flight Academy established its maintenance training program in 2020.

“Ever since we opened our first Part 147 campus, we’ve had requests for a test prep course like this,” Josh Rawlins, Epic chief operating officer and aircraft mechanic program director, said in a news release. “So we worked with staff to plan a robust refresher course that takes two weeks and includes testing over that period. We’re excited to help skilled mechanics earn their FAA certifications.”

The course will initially be offered each month. The tuition is $2,100 with a $100 registration fee.

School officials said mechanics with qualifying civilian or military experience under 14 CFR Part 65 who hold FAA Form 8610-2 are eligible to register for the course.
